Well, I guess I'm not the only one who collects and collects...and collects! I was reading on one of the blogs I follow about collecting glassware. It inspired me to blog about my ever growing chicken collection. Pictured are two of my latest Ebay purchases. The top one is a very unusual rooster pin cushsion with a measuring tape that pulls out on the front. It did have a couple of cracks, but thought it was neat.
The figurines are Japanese Napcoware. What I thought was unique about them is that they look like the Delaware chickens. Since I got these two, I purchased two more chicken figurines & some very cute chicken/Holstein cow green gingham quilting fabric. Also, I'm currently bidding on a bolt of lace curtain fabric with gorgeous roosters and hens. There's also some retro looking crazy chicken applique quilt blocks I've been eyeing to bid on!!!
It would be one thing if chickens were the only thing I collect. My house is one big collection... cats, cows, chicken devonshire china, pastorial pattern dishes, records, stationary, stamps, chicken themed rubber stamps, vhs, dvds, cds, pc games, antiques, victoriana, stickers, greeting cards, antique books, animal playing cards, over 150 bottles of perfume in my fragrance wardrobe.... oh my....and over 50 designer handbags...not to mention shoes.... Did I mention I need to clean out my closets????
Does anyone have any Brown Swiss cow figurines?

Love the rooster and hen! So pretty! And that pincushion one is so unique. Really cool. I wouldn't have room in my house for all your collections! That's a lot of stuff. I don't think I've owned 50 handbags in my lifetime. I tend to stick with one or two until they wear out.
Susan, like you I have one or two that I carry until they fall apart. Tho, everytime I go into TJ Maxx I end up buying one or two, thinking that one day I'll need this. Of course, now that I wear a USPS uniform to work I don't carry handbags like I used to when I worked at a newspaper office.
I'm getting ready to put a lot of the bags on Ebay too! I need to pay for all my new chicken collectibles :o)
50 HANDBAGS? :-)
I wouldn't have near the space to house all your collections, good luck.
Joanna- I don't have the room either! I've been trying to thin out the herd. Tomorrow I'm listing a ton of perfumes and purses and some of my old Victorian Christmas villages on Ebay.
My goal is to get my "storage room" cleared out to set up my sewing machine!
You're right, they do look like Delawares! How cute. Now what are ya gonna do with 50 purses, hmm??? LOL
I'm going have one heck of a yard sale or Ebay sale!!! LOL
